CENTENNIAL ANNIVERSARY BSA 2010
The Centennial Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America is only a few months away. See information on www.Scouting.org and check out the Centennial program materials, including the special patch that can be earned.
Encourage families to checkout www.Scoutparents.org and tell everyone about www.Scoutalumni.org. The first site will provide parents more information about the benefits of Scouting and how they can get the most out of the program. The second site will bring former Scouts back into touch with today’ Scouting program.
The Conquistador Council has several activity plans developing through the districts and recommendations for unit activities.
One activity that you can start right now is to locate “the Oldest Cub Scout or Boy Scout” in your community. Another activity is to do some research at your libary or newspaper to find the earliest news article about Scouting in your community. And a great activity is to set up a display of early Scout memorabilia, or your current items, in a library or other secure public display area. Tell your Scouting story to the world!
